ポルトガルへ行った際に気づいたことを忘れないように書いておく。街を歩いていると、「マリファナ (Marijuana)」という声が聞こえてくる。葉っぱを持った女性が売り歩いているのも見かけた。ポルトガルでは麻薬は合法なのだ(合法と行っても、criminal penalties がないということ)。合法になったことによって、薬物中毒での死者数は減少したようだ。薬物中毒者を出さないようにするには、薬物を違法にして禁止するよりも、薬物に手を出させないようにする環境、薬物中毒患者へのケアを充実させる必要であることがわかる。ただ、簡単に入手でき、試すことが出来てしまうため、日本のように厳しく違法にしておき、手に入れにくくさせることは大切だと感じた。大麻が広く普及してしまった国では、大麻を合法化し、hard drugに手を出さないようにさせるのも一つの手段だろう。
他の国はどうかをホステルで聞いてみた。海外のホステルは世界各国から旅行者が集まっているので、各国の状況を話し合う絶好の機会だ。オランダ人に聞いてみると、規制はそれなりに緩いという。ドイツ人(職業:警察官)に聞いてみると、ドイツでは大麻は厳しく罰せられており、ポルトガルの状況にショックを受けたと言っていた。各国の状況は様々異なっており、ひとことでは書き表せない。スペインもそれなりにゆるいのだが、町中で売っているところには出くわさなかった。(販売に対して規制されているからか...?)

更新を一時停止していましたが、本日より再開します。理由は、ポルトガルとスペイン、ドバイを3週間程度かけ旅をしていたため。今後、旅を通して得られた知見をブログで紹介していくつもりです。
旅をしている間に、あるメッセージがブログに届きました。内容は、イディオムやフレーズが役に立ちますとのこと。ブログを参考にしてくれている人がいるとは....。このブログは、基本的にわかりきったこと(私がすでに知っていること)は書いていないため、わからないところは自分で調べてほしい。Googleで検索すれば、ほぼ確実に答えは得られるでしょう。


今年のSuper BowlはポルトガルPortoのホステルで見ました。アメリカ人がかなり騒いでいました...。
