クリケットはイギリスで発祥したため、イギリスの統治下にあったインドではサッカー並に大人気のスポーツです。

dopeは麻薬、すごいヤバイ という意味。

dope azzと書くこともできます。funny でgoofy(odd)(まぬけ)にしたければ。他にはチャットでよく使われるのが、kewl (coolの代わりに)stahp (stopの代わりに)があげられます。dope assが正しいつづりです。

アメリカでは誰もプレーしてないといっています。ちなみに、世界2番めに人気のあるスポーツといっているのは、インド人のほとんどがプレーしているということを前提としているため、競技人口が莫大になっているからです。インド人を除くと、オーストラリアやイギリスなど非常に限られた競技人口となります。

ちょっとメモ

Bangalore International Airport(インド)へ行った際に、出国手続きをしている最中、ある看板を発見しました。 
OCI と PIO です。この2つで出国手続きが別れていました。そこで今回はOCIとPIOは何なのかを簡単に解説します。
単純にOCIカードとPIOカードを持っている人で区別しています。どちらもインドに住むためのビザです。
OCIとは、Overseas Citizen of Indiaで、海外インド市民権のこと。インドの永住権を持った人。
PIOとは、Person of Indian Originでインドに直接的な関係のある人。例えば、インド人と結婚した外国籍保持者などはこのカードがもてる。

この2つの違いはなかなか難しく、制度も年によってコロコロ変わるため、大体の意味を理解してれば十分でしょう(インドに住む気がなければ)。どちらもインドに住む人むけのVISAでわけられているということです。
